Follow up to the Blackpool Faith in Community event

Just a brief posting to let those who were unable to be at the Faith in Community event on Tuesday know about some of the outcomes... Apologies for any duplication on this email...but I feel it was significant enough to report back to the widest possible network.
 
 
Andy Divall and I hope to digest the discussion and outcomes .. and eavluation feedback and produce and circulate a brief report. We will in due course contact you again to suggest next stages in the process of working together.
 
 The outcomes and suggestions from the group work as gathered into a powerpoint can be downloaded from my dropbox.

As discussed in the next few days I will try to set up a Google email group and enrol everyone who supplied their email at the conference in it.. This will enable everyone to contact the whole network via a single email address.
 
Undoubtedly the group will expand as others are added to our number.   Keep an eye out for emails announcing the group..Please let me know if you would like to join.

Hello CURBS friend,
 
I am writing to ask if you will join us in praying for the CURBS project and the children and families we focus on who live in our poorer urban or estate based communities across the UK.
 
The Christmas season is a tough time for many of the children and families we know and care about. The impact of debt, unemployment, benefits changes are adding pressure to family life and many of you will know what this looks and feels like in your community. Lets join together in prayer.
 
This season the CURBS Project is facing financial challenges and we are seeking God's direction about the future. We are passionate about equipping, supporting and encouraging Christians in sharing our life giving gospel with children/families on the edge - but we really want to discern which way forward we should focus on.
 
If you would like to join us I will send you an email for each advent week with a prayer focus for each day. You can also let me have your suggestions of prayer points to add into the mix!

Congratulations - national award for Blackpool homeless charity.

A couple from Blackpool who have just won a national award for their homeless charity.

It means even more to them as they themselves were once forced to sleep rough.

Carol and Len Fowler had settled in the seaside resort in the 1980s with hopes of running a guest house.

But as visitor numbers dropped so too did their income and they ended up living on the streets.

Now they run a charity called The Well project, which provides food and support for homeless people.
