THE AIM OF THE SCHEME
The Prince's Trust Team programme is a unique personal development programme. It enables young people in the 16-25 year old age group to develop their confidence, motivation and skills through teamwork in the community. It brings together people of different abilities, circumstances and backgrounds - both employed and unemployed.

The Prince's Trust Team Programme aims to develop young people by modifying behaviour and changing attitudes. This is achieved through working directly with young people, developing them for further education, progression into the workplace or creating opportunities for those already in employment. All young people on the programme are encouraged to continue to volunteer once they have left the programme and are one of the positive outcomes expected of Delivery Partners by the Prince's Trust.
The process creates 'friends' of the fire service who become socially aware, and respect the dominant social beliefs and values, and can assist with the Service aim of reducing the incidence of arson and accidental ignition. This in turn reduces casualties and death by fire thus corresponding with Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service's objective of "making
