Lottery Workshops,
Reaching Communities and Awards for AllBlackpool is a priority area for Reaching Communities. Although there have recently been half a dozen successful applications, our town is still under-represented and the Lottery are actively seeking applications from the area. Reaching Communities is the Big Lottery Fund's flagship grant, with funding available from £10,000 to over half a million. Grants can be for multi-year revenue or for capital projects (through the Reaching Communities Buildings strand). The overall aim of the fund is to improve communities and the lives of people most in need, and applications should seek to achieve this aim through one of the following outcomes: 1. People having better chances in life, with access to training and development to improve life skills 2. Stronger communities, with more active citizens working together to tackle their problems 3. Improved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy 4. Healthier and more active people and communities. Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde CVS have arranged a Reaching Communities workshop, run by Sarah Clubb, the North West Big Lottery funding officer. Sarah will be explaining the application process, looking at each question in detail. She'll be discussing criteria, clear outcomes and evidencing need and will answer questions. This is your chance to get advice and guidance on successful applications directly from a Lottery representative. The workshop will be held on Thursday 30 th April, 10am – 1pm at the City Learning Centre, Dinmore Avenue. The event is free, but places are limited so please let us know if you're coming – email simon.lawton@cvsbwf.org.uk or phone 01253 624505. There are still places available on Thursday's Awards for All workshop - your chance to find out directly from a Lottery representative what they're looking for in a successful application. Awards for All is the Lottery's small grant, allowing community-based groups to receive grant funding between £300 and £10,000. Don't forget that Blackpool is still a priority area for the Lottery, so they're actively seeking Awards for All applications from you! The application form is relatively straightforward - a good starting point for understanding funding bids. It requires evidence of need, clear community involvement and activies that directly affect outcomes. CVS have arranged a workshop run by our local Lottery representative, who will provide hints, tips and general guidance on completing Awards for All applications. The workshop will take place on Thursday 23rd April, 10am-1pm, at the Salvation Army Citadel, Raikes Parade. Places are free but limited so please book asap - either email: simon.lawton@cvsvwf.org.uk, or call the CVS on 01253624505. |
