The Council's budget is being reduced again this year – by around £20 million.
We've worked hard to minimise the impact of the funding reductions over the last few years; but the decisions are becoming harder and public-facing services are now being seriously affected by the Government's cuts. These are not decisions we take lightly as we know what an important part our services play in people's lives.
To help explain the situation, we've produced a video which outlines some of the issues and pressures we face in the coming year… https://youtu.be/kIy6div9pWc
We would like your input on where savings could be made across the Council's budget. There are three ways of getting involved and making your opinions heard…
1. Take our online survey… www.blackpool.gov.uk/budgetcuts
2. Come along to one of our feedback sessions…

The feedback sessions / events are open to anyone and everyone who either lives or works in Blackpool, so please feel free to invite others who you think would like to get involved in the debate.
You don't need to register or book for these sessions, simply turn up on the day at the time and location that best suits you. Tea and coffee will be provided and you will guided through the various budget options. You will have the opportunity to prioritise services and share your views on where you feel the Council can make changes. Your feedback will be used by Councillors to inform their initial deliberations on how to set a balanced budget. Specific proposals on changes to services will be presented later in the year.
If you have any questions or concerns relating to either the online survey or the feedback sessions please email jenny.ingle@blackpool.gov.uk
