Good Afternoon 

I am pleased to announce that the new issue has now been posted on our website.Please go to Issue 12 2014 to view it. Included in the CVS update is information on the upcoming Wyre showcase and awards event, information on registering your votes, and why the Revoelution First Friday! Event was a huge Success.

Youngsters Asked to Help Shape New Park
Local residents and young people have being asked to help choose a design for a new play park in Blackpool. The space in front of Ibbison Court community centre off Central Drive is currently home to grass beds and path ways.

Blood Donation Call for Easter
In the run up to Easter, NHS Blood and Transplant is asking Fylde residents to think about those less fortunate than  themselves and give blood, as well as giving gifts and chocolate to friends and family.

Take a fresh look at what's on your doorstep, is the message from Wyre Council ahead of    English Tourism Week (29 March to 6 April). As well as promoting the wonders of Wyre to the rest of the country, the council is keen to remind residents that the attractions here are not just for visitors.
 

Fleetwood Cook and Eat Together

Cook and Eat Together is a six week programme of information, activities and cooking where you can learn about healthy eating for you and your family. Each session will cover a different topic and there will be opportunities for you to prepare a meal to eat with your family afterwards

Addaction Secondment Roles on Fulfilling Lives Project
Addaction are currently looking for people to work on secondment from appropriate delivery  organisations. You must be currently employed and delivering services within Blackpool, and will obtain through competitive interview one of the posts that will be part of the programme structure.
 

Health and Wellbeing Boards and Their Role

Health and Wellbeing Boards were formally established on 1 April 2013 as part of Government reforms to the NHS as set out in the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The main purpose of Health and Well-being Board's is to oversee the new system for local health commissioning and to lead on the strategic planning and co-ordination of NHS, Public Health, Social Care and related Children's Services.
 
Freckleton Man Thanks Centre Which Saved his Life
A Freckleton man has donated £6,000 to the Lancashire Cardiac Centre, where he received life saving treatment. David Slater was treated at the Centre just after his 50th  birthday, six years ago, and has donated a thousand pounds to the Centre's Heart of Gold  Charitable Fund each year since. 

Wyre Waters - Community Consultation Workshops 

Wyre Waters, a Catchment Partnership hosted by the Wyre Rivers Trust., are about to host 6 Community Consultation Workshops, to which you are cordially invited,They hope you are able to attend a meeting which is close to your home in the Wyre Catchment.
 

Building Begins at Queens Park

A ceremonial first brick has been laid as building work begins at Blackpool's Queens Park estate. Cllr Gillian Campbell, Blackpool Council's cabinet member for housing, donned a hard hat and steel toe cap boots to carry out the honour alongside Lovell regeneration manager Bruce Lister earlier this week.

Young People's Anti Tobacco Industry Event Invitation
As part of the Smoke & Mirrors Project, Tobacco Free Futures, is running an event for young people to highlight how tobacco companies deliberately target their products at young people using a range of techniques.
 

Lancashire County Council Local Member Grants

Each county councillor has a budget of £3,000 per year to award under the Local Member Grants scheme. They can award funding to groups that benefit residents from within their electoral division.
