Again this year there is both a London and a Northern (Leeds) version of this event.
Whatever our style of mission, there can always be the tendency to offer others what we ourselves think the faith should look and feel like. But what if God wants to offer something different that suits each culture and subculture? So how do we mission with Sense and Sensitivity? How do we Take care with Estate Mission? Just how do we learn what God is already doing in the Housing Estates and get alongside him in it?
This year's NECN conference will consider the various current takes on mission, check out how each approach can be undertaken sensitively or insensitively, discuss why we might need to be concerned about that, and share many stories and programmes which are attempting to do it right.
Many speakers and practitioners will share their ideas, concerns and challenges so that we hope to come away with fresh insight and lots of new ideas to try.
As always, this conference is for lay people as well as ministers, all denominations and those who work in other Christian groupings. We keep the cost down (still only £20 for the day including lunch and hot drinks) and offer essentially the same one day programme in two venues – one north and one south – to help your travel expense.
Come along, bring some friends, meet old friends and new, and learn how to be a housing estate Christian with pride, and without prejudice.
