Subject: 'CAT: Setting Up' invites

Hi all!

Thank you for all those who were able to attend the Community Action Teams Info Day today at Mereside Children's Centre!

We had a great time exploring more about what the team can offer to Blackpool and how local people can make the biggest difference in their own areas through volunteering on the team. So a very positive start indeed!

For more info about the team, please see attached and call/email me if you think you can help :)

I'm planning over the next 3-weeks to hold a series of 'Setting Up' workshops for the new Community Action Teams.

I'm looking for people to attend who would like to join the team as a volunteer.

The roles we currently have available are:

-          Project Leaders

-          Admin Support

-          Ambassadors

-          CAT Volunteers

There is literally something for everyone! And you don't need to be 100% fit and active to take part and help get things going! There are loads of benefits for being part of the team and it will genuinely transform peoples lives receiving the help, so a mega WIN WIN for everyone involved!

I'm also announcing our first project day which will take place on:

-          Sat 3rd May

-          9:30am-1pm

-          Meeting outside the Bowness Ave. Community Centre

-          We will be working with local residents and community groups to litter pick the edges of the football field and remove every piece of litter we can find.

-          The project will be lead by volunteers from Valley Church in Preston, which is the organisation where the Community Action Team first originated (which I set up) and has been operating very successfully for 4 years! During this time, the team have gone on to win 4 awards, one being collected in the House of Commons! These volunteers are excellent quality and so we have a lot to learn from them to apply to Blackpool.

-          Anyone can turn up on the day; people will just need a packed lunch & some warm clothes. We'll provide the rest!

Please circulate the poster attached and invite as many people as you can!

The more volunteers who engage, the bigger the impact we can have in Blackpool!

We hope if all is successful here in Mereside, then we will extend the teams across Blackpool as well!

Please get in touch for more details and forward volunteer interest onto me as well.

THANK YOU!

James

:)
