Please note that places are limited and there is a maximum of one place per organisation on this workshop. | | Blackpool Social Media Surgery - April 2013 What's a social media surgery I hear you ask? Social Media Surgeries happen up and down the UK and give not for profit groups and organisations the chance to come and ask their burning social media questions to a pool of volunteer "surgeons". Whether it is Facebook or Twitter, LinkedIn or Foursquare - there will be someone on hand to sit with you one to one and work through any questions or problem you're having - plus a nice cup of tea and some cake. The next Blackpool Social Media Surgery takes place on Tuesday 2 April 2013 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde CVS. To book your place or for more information click here.
| | | | Believe. In - Free Online Giving PlatformYesterday saw the launch of a new free online giving platform called believe.in. The site offers charities the chance to fundraise online in a similar way to through Just Giving, Local Giving and Virgin Money Giving.
The main difference with the new service is that it is totally free with no set up costs, monthly fees, cuts from donations or Gift Aid and no credit card fees - ensuring that 100% of the money raised goes to charity.
Speaking to civilsociety.co.uk, co-founder and CEO of Believe.in, Matthias Metternich, said: "We estimate that every year charities lose £750m to middlemen, who take a cut from the donations they help process. Believe.in provides a solution to this that does not tax people's generosity and enables people to give and fundraise for the charities they care about without a penny lost along the way."
