Useful Booklet on Benefits Changes with Local contact information for Lancashire

Blackburn diocese has produced a booklet with information about each of the changes and some guidance of sources of further help for individuals who find themselves in need because of the changes. It can be downloaded from

We are keen to monitor the impact of these changes by collecting case studies of people affected.

As the pilot stage of  a national research project for Church Urban Fund we are asking clergy and organisations supporting claimants in Lancashire (+ Blackpool & Blackburn) to share their experiences of problems, solutions and failures in the system by writing up cases they have dealt with over the period from March - June this year.

Naturally every story should be kept anonymous... and no individual client should be identifiable from your accounts. We simply want to monitor and report on the patterns that are emerging.
