Job summary

 

This is a temporary appointment whose main purpose is to offer support and assistance to the current Head of Operations. This post is immediately available and will be offered until the end of April 2015. The charity is currently managed by two Heads of Services (one for Business and one for Operations) with the Chair of the Trustees acting as a non-remunerated part time executive Chair.

 

The current Head of Operations is anticipating leaving her post before April 2015 following her decision to emigrate, and the Board of Trustees are presently considering the senior management arrangements, which will be put in place from mid 2015. This post is to provide the necessary support and continuity through a period of change.

 

General responsibilities are:

To assist the Head of Operations in the development of an overall business strategy; to ensure that in all project work, endeavors & dealing with external agencies the interests of the Charity are promoted at all times; to observe and comply with all lawful and reasonable requests and instructions of Head of Operations.  

 

Main duties include:

Assist in legal compliance; support the management of the day to day operational activity and staffing issues; help facilitate governance functions by providing information to the Board  and its sub-committees; project support and management; offer assistance in quality, finance and budgetary planning; liaise with clients, staff and stakeholders to further improve services, the charity's standing within the region and generate community involvement; provide effective leadership; encourage participation in training and development; attend internal and external meetings; lead by positive example.
