Dementia Friendly Churches

Dementia currently affects 800,000 people in the UK and the number is set to double in the next 30 years.

Most areas of the county are now beginning to address the need for Dementia Friendly Communities and we can play our part.

A series of four training sessions have been arranged at

St Cuthbert's Church Centre, Lytham Road, Preston

On 3rd and 10th December and 14th and 21st January

All from 1.00 pm – 5.00 pm

They are open to all church member and the sessions lead from one to another

Session 1: Stories - The experience of people with dementia

Session 2: Relationships - The role of carers, friends and family

Session 3: Support – What help is available for people with dementia and their families

Session 4: Community – How the church be a partner in developing dementia friendly communities
